The time-tested adage that “behind every successful man, there stands a good woman,” really held true for the Grand Prize winner of the just completed Lake Ontario Counties (LOC) Trout and Salmon Fall Fishing Derby. William Hogrebe of Lebanon, New Jersey, won it all at the big event, taking home a $20,100 check with a 38.08-pound Chinook salmon.
The elated winner said that his wife Mary, earned her share of the top prize by assisting him all the way. She had to run the boat, tend to the downriggers, give constant advice and encouragement, and finally, successfully net the huge fish. Bill said, “he couldn’t have picked a better fishing partner Mary did it all and she did it right!” |
